Owner and Operator, Wayne Buettner began taking an interest in boats at an early age. His interest began on the South Shore's North River, boating on weekends with his family. At the age of 14, he began high school at South Shore Regional Vocational Technical High School (South Shore VoTech.) With a love of the ocean, and boating, it was only natural that he began his studies in Marine Technology. Through his coursework, he learned the basics of inboard/outboard engine troubleshooting and repair, fiberglass repairs, gel-coat application, and electrical system design and layout. In 1993 Wayne earned his certificate in Marine Technology. After earning his certificate, he went on to work for several, well established marinas along the South Shore. In working at these marinas he honed his skills as a mechanic, and businessman learning new "tricks of the trade" and the ins and outs of the marine business. In 2001, he left his job as a mechanic, to join the Marine Corps. During this time, he kept up his skills between his two deployments to Iraq, with various small engine repairs, consultations with fellow Marines interested both in boating, and purchasing boats. In 2005 Wayne returned from Iraq, to open his own repair and maintenance business. His focus is on quality workmanship, preventative maintenance, and customer satisfaction. In his spare time, Wayne enjoys boating on the North River with his wife and young son, scuba diving, snow skiing and water skiing, and shooting sports. At Wayne's Custom Marine, we look forward to serving you and all of your on-site marine repair and maintenance needs. |
